our story goes way back, and yet, not really. nearly fifteen years ago, we were both students at eden prairie high school (go eagles!). we were both hockey players, so we crossed paths at the rink and passed each other in the hallways, but not a single word was ever exchanged.

fast forward to 2023. i was laid up in bed recovering from double knee surgery, and in my depressed, immobile state, i decided that downloading hinge would be an excellent way to distract from my misery. the very first profile i saw was brad's and, obviously, i recognized him immediately, so i shot my shot. thankfully, he wasn't scared off by the fact that i couldn't stand on my own two feet.

since i was on crutches, our early dates were fairly low-key: grabbing cocktails, trying new restaurants, laying in the grass by the lakes with our books in tow. but despite my limitations, we clicked instantly and knew this connection was something different. we had so much more in common than just our high school mascot - a shared love of reading (yay library venue!), a desire for adventure, and the same outlook on life and what makes it meaningful.

being together has felt like coming home and we love the life we have built here in minneapolis. we cannot wait to get married, and we are so grateful for everyone who has loved and supported us along the way. now let’s celebrate!
